ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SVP There will be a second collection next Sunday 9th December for St. Vincent De Paul to assist those with needs in the Parish.
The family of Joan Redpath would wish to thank sincerely all parishioners for their condolences, prayers and Mass intentions. A sum of £540 has been passed to the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary for their missionary work in Arambala, El Salvador.
Next Saturday December 8th is the Solemn Feast of Immaculate Conception of the Virgin Mary. Masses at usual times.
RECEPTION SCHOOL SIGNING: Fr John will be signing school application forms for reception on Monday 10th & Tuesday 11th December from 3.30pm to 7pm in the Presbytery. Let’s recall what you are doing. As parents you are applying to a Catholic school to accept your child into reception. Where the school has more applicants than places available, the school gives priority to practicing Catholics. This is estimated on your weekend Mass attendance so on the application form you state how often you attend Church: weekly/fortnightly etc. The priest is asked to verify your statement. In this parish there is a well established practice of how to do this. The last thing the priest wants is an argument with a parent over their Christian practice.
CAR PARKING ON THE ROAD IN FRONT OF THE CHURCH IS NOT ALLOWED ON THE SUNDAYS OF DECEMBER BEFORE CHRISTMAS.
Sacrament of Reconciliation. Congratulations to the 60+ young people who are making their First Confession this weekend and next. They have just completed a very comprehensive preparatory course and for that we say well done to their teachers and to those who organized the programme.
