LAST WEEK SECOND COLLECTION FOR HOME MISSION DAY amounted to £524.40. Thank you very much for your generosity.

 

TABLE TOP SALE NEXT WEEKEND 28TH & 29TH SEPTEMBER. There will be a Table Top Sale after all Masses next weekend. Proceeds to be divided between St. Joseph’s convent Bethlehem and the defibrillator for our church. Do you have new or nearly new items to donate to the Table Top Sale? If you do, please leave items in the Repository. Thank you.

 

PARISH DEFIBRILATOR FUNDRAISING. To this date, donation amounted to £2,651.09. Thank you all for your generosity. The parish is still accepting donations. If you wish, please collect an envelope in the porch for your donation.

ST.JOSEPH CHURCH IS HOLDING an international event on 28th September 2019 from 1pm. The venue is in St.Joseph Junior School at 150 Vicarage Road, Leyton E10 5DX. Everyone is very welcome.

 

† WE REGRET TO ANNOUNCE THE DEATH OF CARMEL LEE RIP.  Her funeral will take place in this parish on Wednesday 25th September at 10am and this will be the only Mass on that day.  May she rest in peace.

FROM SVP SECRETARIAL RETURN. ANNUAL REPORT 2018 -2019  We carried out 339 visits/telephone calls to Families.  Visited Elderly in their home and Residential care, People in hospital, the homeless/refugee/asylum/migrants status.  This included: gifting money, furniture and food parcels.  Attended funerals and pickup unwanted clothes/furniture/bric-a-brac to take to our charity shop, helped with transport and supported the John Bosco Camp and entertained with Tea on the Lawn after Sunday Mass.  We are here in our Parish to help in any way, so if you would like our help or just want a chat - please contact us.

 

ESSEX RECUSANT SOCIETY (BRENTWOOD DIOCESAN HISTORICAL SOCIETY): the next meeting will take place at The Grange, 93 Queens Road, Brentwood, Essex CM14 4EY, on Saturday 28 September at 2.30pm. Father Bob White of the Ordinariate of Our Lady of Walsingham (and formerly Vicar of St Thomas of Canterbury, Brentwood) will speak on ‘From Anglicanism to Catholicism.’ All are welcome.

BCYS YOUTH GATHER, MERSEA ISLAND, 26TH-27TH OCTOBER 2019 (half term weekend). The Youth Gather is for anyone is school year 9-13, and includes a mix of inspiring speakers, reflection and prayer, together with outward bound activities like zip wires, high ropes and climbing walls. The cost of £50 includes coach from Stratford, Romford, Basildon, Brentwood, Chelmsford or Southend, as well as all meals and activities. BAPTISM. Application forms for infant Baptism are available in the porch.  Please fill in and present to parish secretary during office hours.  It is unwise to organise a reception until the date of the baptism has been approved by Fr. Kevin. It is a Diocesan requirement that you are registered in this parish for at least six months.

 

PARISH MEMBERSHIP. We are aware that some people have left the parish and while others have joined us.  To those newly arrived we say welcome and wish you a peaceful time here.  We hope and pray that your coming to St. Patricks will satisfy your need to have a meaningful relationship with God and help you to meet new friends. Do introduce yourself to Fr. Kevin and register with the Parish Secretary and make sure you are known in case you plan to have a child receive a sacrament or apply for a place in a Catholic school.

ARE YOU AWARE that the Rosary is said each morning in the church at 9.05 am (just before the morning Mass)? All are welcome to participate.

 

UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO MASS? The church offers a service called Mass Link.  At 6pm Sunday Mass, via Skype, we call people who want to listen to the Mass and broadcast the Mass to them over their phones. This service is available for anyone who can't make it to Mass if you are ill or housebound.  If you would like this service, please give your number to the Parish Office and we will ring you every Sunday at 6pm to listen in!

 

LEGION OF MARY meeting is held each Thursday after Mass at 10:15 am.  If anyone is interested in what we do, you are very welcome to attend.

 

NOVENA PRAYER OF OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP every Wednesday at 10am.

 

DIVINE MERCY- every Wednesday at 4pm in the Church.

 

EL SHADDAI (CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC GROUP). Rosary prayer, praise and worship, preaching the gospel of the Lord, every Saturday, from 1pm – 4pm.
