Eat or Heat Appeal: Eat or Heat is an emergency food bank set up to feed those who have nothing to eat and their children. Many of our brothers and sisters in Walthamstow are hungry and the food store for Eat or Heat is depleting rapidly to meet the demand. We are asking our parishioners who wish to contribute to help feed those less fortunate than ourselves, to donate tinned (soup, vegetables, beans, fish etc.) or dry (pasta, rice, lentils etc.) food for the food bank. There is a container in the porch of the church where donations of food can be made. Donations can also be made at the parish office. This is a worthy cause and our chance to fulfil one of our live simply project ideas which involves the entire parish. May you be blessed for your generosity.
Faith in Action Group. We have some good news. Our Action Plan for the work of the Parish towards our ‘Live Simply’ project has been accepted by CAFOD and indeed, commended. The Faith in Action Group met last Monday and agreed we should begin as soon as possible. We thought it best to begin ‘simply’ with a ‘Walk to Church Weekend’. A Walking to Church Weekend means that, if it is possible, you will walk or cycle to church rather than use a car and thus avoid polluting the atmosphere. At all Masses today, by a show of hands we will indicate who made the choice to walk rather than come by car. We also hope that if you see another member of the parish walking you will join them and hopefully get to know them better.
FOSPA. Friends of St. Patrick’s school are looking for new members. Please leave your details in Parish office.

TOILETRIES FOR CALAIS. Last year our parish very generously donated toiletries for the refugees in Calais. We would like to start a new collection as their supplies are running very low–they are still receiving 100 new people per day. A box for the donations will be in the porch. Toiletries needed: deodorant, shampoo/conditioner, new razors, shower gel/liquid soap, hand sanitiser, lotion, tooth brushes, toothpaste, wash clothes, washbags, toilet roll. Thank you.
St. Patrick’s Pre-school. This week sadly sees the closure of the St. Patrick’s Pre-school. The Pre-school has operated in our hall for more than 40 years. Over these years many Parishioners have seen their children begin their education in the Pre-school and all have been high in their praise of the school and its staff. We thank God for the good work of Marie Neville and those who worked with her. We wish Marie a happy retirement and her present staff success in finding new job opportunities.
IMPORTANT NOTICE. Due to Fire and Safety Regulations, children and persons of limited mobility are NOT permitted in the gallery. We also ask that when lighting a candle you first place the candle in one of the cups provided. Please do not walk around with a lighted candle

PRAYER OF ST. FRANCIS OF ASSISI : PRAYER FOR PEACE Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy; O Divine Master, grant that I may seek not so much to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; it is in pardoning that we are pardoned; and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen.
Acknowledgement. Story by Unknown. A newly arrived soul in Heaven was met by St. Peter. The saint toured the soul around Heaven. Both of them walked side by side inside a large workroom filled with angels. St. Peter stopped in front of the first section and said, "This is the Receiving Section. Here, all the petitions to God said in prayer are received." The soul looked at the section, and it was terribly busy with so many angels sorting out petitions written on voluminous paper sheets from all the people of the world. They walked again until they reached the 2nd section, and St. Peter told the soul, "This is the Packaging and Delivery Section. Here, the graces and blessings the people asked for are packed and delivered to the persons who asked for them down on earth." The soul saw how busy it was. There were so many angels working in that room, since so many blessing were being packed and delivered to Earth. Finally at the farthest corner of the room, the soul stopped at the last section. To the surprise of the soul, only one angel stayed there idly, doing nothing. "This is the Acknowledging Section," St. Peter told the soul. "How is it that, there is no work here?" "That's the sad thing," St. Peter answered. "After the people received the blessings they asked for, very few send their acknowledgments." "How does one acknowledge God's blessing?" "Simple," St. Peter answered. "Just say, "'Thank you, Lord'."
