PALM SUNDAY OF THE LORD’S PASSION. We need to remember that contemplation of the face of Jesus, died and risen, restores our humanity even when it has been broken by the troubles of his life or marred by sin (gaudeteet exsultate 151) Luke 22:14-23:56 ‘This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me’.  We are now in the final days of Lent.  On Thursday night the Triduum begins (Holy Thursday, Good Friday and Holy Saturday), bringing our Lenten journey to its climactic celebration on Easter Sunday.  Today, the liturgy invites us to contemplate the face of Jesus, the suffering Lord.  If you are tempted to doubt God’s love, look at Christ crucified. Here the mystery of God’s love is revealed.  St. Augustine said, ‘God loves each one of us as if there were only one of us to love’.  Lord, pour out your grace upon us as this Holy Week begins and as we journey towards the glory of the cross and the victory of the resurrection.  Let us proclaim, ‘Hosanna, blessed is Jesus the servant King, the Lord of Lords’. – Walk With Me A Lenten Journey of Prayer for 2019.
