LIVE SIMPLY. Have you considered what the benefits would be if you walked on a daily basis instead of taking the car? * Walking short distances instead of driving lessens the impact of air pollution which can significantly benefit the health of children, older adults and anyone who suffers with allergies, respiratory and heart problems. When a car engine is cold, it takes several minutes to warm up which is when the most harmful emissions are greatest. * Walking more and driving less reduces greenhouse gas emissions that contribute to global warming. Global warming has a part to play in climate change which can increase the frequency of heatwaves, floods and droughts around the world. *Walking more and driving less reduces your carbon footprint. *Walking more and driving less helps to reduce traffic congestion and noise levels. * Walking more and driving less will save you money on petrol and car repairs. * Walking more and driving less has been scientifically proven to lower blood pressure and cholesterol and reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes. Also, increase energy and fitness levels and decrease body weight. Additionally, improve sleep quality and patterns. * Walking more and driving less gives you time for contemplation which can enhance your mental well being. Studies have shown walking reduces the physical symptoms of anxiety associated with minor stress. REMEMBER THAT EVEN SHORT WALKS EVERY DAY IS BETTER THAN NOTHING!
