SECOND COLLECTION this weekend 10th and 11th November for Irish Vincentian Missionary Tradition -  St. Vincent de Paul the founder of The Vincentians – is rightly remembered as the heroic figure who transformed Seventeenth Century French society, through Christian charity. He also had concern for foreign missions, and sent missionaries far and wide: Poland, Algeria, Italy, Tunisia, Madagascar, also Scotland and Ireland.  St. Vincent de Paul is also the head of the Worldwide Vincentian Family which consists of a great many groups given to works of Charity – most notable the Daughters of Charity, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the AIC.  Fr. Kevin O’Shea who visits us this weekend has worked as a missionary in Nigeria.

The hub is lead by the Council and coordinated by Crest Waltham Forest and and supported by wider partners… The W.F. REMEMBRANCE SUNDAY

Remembrance Sunday, which falls on 11 November in 2018, is a day for the nation  to remember and honour those who have sacrificed themselves to secure and protect our freedom.

Almighty Father, We thank you for bringing us together this Remembrance Sunday to recall with tenderness and respect those who lost their lives from this community and the many thousands further afield in the wars

0f the last century. We pray for all those still caught up in conflicts across the world and acknowledge what may be our own confusion about war

and the use of weapons. Father, help us to meet with you in these moments of worship Make us ever mindful of your goodness towards us

and strengthen us to be aware of the needs of others. As we pray for peace, give us peace in our hearts. Through Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen.
