RACIAL JUSTICE – next weekend 9th September, second collection at all Masses. Racial Justice Sunday has been marked by our different church traditions for some years now. Racial Justice day was initiated because it was believed that churches needed support to help their members develop the confidence to get to grips with prejudice and racism in themselves, in the church and in wider society. It was hoped that individuals might respect and honour those different from themselves, that the Church might become inclusive in the way that we believe God wants it to be and society transformed. PASSING ON THE BATON. For many years Mary Arthur has served as Safeguarding Officer and Rota Organiser for Ministers of Holy Communion in this Parish. She now wishes to pass on the baton to others. Our sincere gratitude to her for all she has done especially in setting up the Child Protection Programme. May God reward her for all the hard work involved in these jobs. The work of the Ministers of Holy Communion Rota will be taken by Yolanda Cantil and that of Child Protection by Bernadette Ely. Any Ministers of Holy Communion who wishes to speak to Yolanda can ring her on 07984633054.
Our thanks to those two ladies for accepting these onerous tasks.
