How to Appreciate Simple Moments of Grace by Pablo Diaz — Posted in Power of Prayer on Apr 27, 2017.  Too often we take the simple but beautiful things in life for granted–a warm sunny day, the colourful spring buds in bloom, a random act of kindness by a stranger. These are all moments of grace that God has blessed us with. And when we stop and take a moment to enjoy these blessings, our perspective on life can change in a positive way.   Sometimes we ask ourselves, where is God? I believe God is everywhere we are. We just need to pause so that we don’t miss out on His many blessings. It is easy to take them for granted, but if we see them as moments of grace, we have the power to shift how we see God in our everyday lives.  My friend, Enrique, recently travelled from Florida to New York to visit his parents and experienced a moment of grace that he will never forget. He wanted to spend time with his father who is living in a nursing home at the age of 90 and suffering from dementia. Some days are good, others are not. On this particular occasion, his father was having a good day; he recognized him and began asking questions about his trip. This made Enrique very happy and grateful to have his dad present with him at that moment. Unless we stop and take in these moments as God’s grace in our lives, we miss out.  Lord, help us not to take Your presence and moments of grace for granted.
