THIRTY - FIRST SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

 

CONFIRMATION 2019-2020: Application forms are now available in the church porch for enrolment into the Confirmation program 2019-2020. This program is open to youth in Year 10 and above who wish to make their confirmation here in St Patricks. Completed forms must be brought back to the Presbytery no later than this Monday 4th November   and will only be accepted with a copy of the candidate’s baptismal certificate attached.

 

RCIA (The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) Completed forms must be brought back to the Presbytery no later than this Monday 4th November.

 

PLEASE NOTE: THE PARISH OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON SATURDAY, 9TH NOVEMBER.

 

PARISH DEFIBRILLATOR FUNDRAISING. To this date, donation amounted to £3,218. Thank you all for your generosity. The parish is still accepting donations. If you wish, please collect an envelope in the porch for your donation. 

 

DEFIBRILLATOR TRAINING. We are looking for two volunteers from each Mass who will undergo defibrillator training. Please leave your details at the Parish Office.

 

NOVEMBER DEAD LIST- November is the month when we remember our dearly departed. We remember them and pray for them out of gratitude for all they did and were for us.  We remember all those who, down the years by their faith, their Christian witness, their heroic deeds of self-sacrifice have inspired countless others to give more of themselves in service to God and humanity.  Envelopes are available for the names of our deceased loved ones. Place the envelopes in the box provided by the altar.  There are Masses booked for the month of November: See Mass Intentions.

 

† WE REGRET TO ANNOUNCE THE DEATHOF YVETTE CHURCHRIP who died recently.  Her Funeral Mass will take place here on Wednesday 6th November at 10am and that will be the only Mass on that day.  May her soul rest in peace.

On 9 November 2019 The Diocese of Brentwood will be holding the fourth Annual Training and Resource Day for Catechists and Youth Leaders across the diocese. The day will be held at Sacred Heart of Mary School, Upminster. All volunteers involve in First Holy Communion Preparation are encouraged to attend. WEDNESDAY 6th NOVEMBER, an evening for young people with a talk from Hossein Ranjbaran, a resettled refugee, and Mary Stretch from Calais Light (www.calaislight.com). Come to Brentwood Cathedral (Conference Room) at 6.15 for pizza; Mary and Hossein will talk from 6.45-7.30pm, with a chance for questions, and then the monthly Youth Mass is at 8pm. BRENTWOOD DIOCESE MASS FOR ALTAR SERVERS.  Saturday 9th November 2.30 pm. Brentwood Cathedral. Celebrant – Rt.Rev. Bishop Alan Williams S.M. Please arrive by 2.00pm.  Please bring your own alb/cassock & Cottas. (Vesting will be in the Parish Hall) This is open to all Altar Servers in Brentwood Diocese.

 

BI-ANNUAL CONCELEBATED REUIEM MASS at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Leytonstone, will be on Monday 11th November 2019 at 11.30am.

 

CAFOD’S DIOCESAN MEMORIAL MASS in honour of supporters, friends and loved ones who have died will take place this year on Wednesday 13 November at 12pm at St Edward the Confessor RC Church, 5 Park End Road, Romford RM1 4AT at 12pm. You are warmly welcome to attend the mass followed by a short reception hosted by the Golden Club in the parish hall. A Book of Remembrance will be available for anyone who would like their loved ones held in prayer. CHRISTMAS CONCERT. Join homelessness charity Caritas Anchor House for a night of festivities at their Christmas Concert – including wonderful music, and guest speaker Jeremy Paxman! CAH are based in Newham and help 140 homeless people every day. The concert takes place on Wednesday 27th November 2019 at St Margaret and All Saints Church, 79 Barking Road, Canning Town E16 4HB, 6.30 – 7.45pm, followed by refreshments in CAH. MARRIAGE IN CHURCH.  Couples thinking of getting married are reminded to register in good time (minimum of 6 months’ notice). Contact the parish office to make an appointment to see one of the Priests and he will help you from there.  Couples planning to marry in another parish or even outside the country should realise that the process properly begins here.

 

BAPTISM. Application forms for infant Baptism are available in the porch.  Please fill in and present to Parish Secretary during office hours and make an appointment to see one of the Priests.  It is unwise to organise a reception until the date of the baptism has been approved. It’s a Diocesan requirement that you are registered in this parish for at least six months and a regular church goerPlease be aware that baptism will now be on First Saturday of every month at 11:30am.

 

PARISH MEMBERSHIP. We are aware that some people have left the parish and while others have joined us.  To those newly arrived we say welcome and wish you a peaceful time here.  We hope and pray that your coming to St. Patricks will satisfy your need to have a meaningful relationship with God and help you to meet new friends. Do introduce yourself to Fr. Kevin and Fr. Freddy and register with the Parish Secretary and make sure you are known in case you plan to have a child receive a sacrament or apply for a place in a Catholic school.

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE. Due to Fire and Safety Regulations, children and persons of limited mobility are NOT permitted in the gallery.  We also ask that when lighting a candle, you first place the candle in one of the cups provided. Please do not walk around with a lighted candle. Please do not let your children play around candles.

 

ARE YOU AWARE that the Rosary is said each morning in the church at 9.05 am (just before the morning Mass)? All are welcome to participate.

 

UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO MASS? The church offers a service called Mass Link.  At 6pm Sunday Mass, via Skype. This service is available for anyone who can't make it to Mass if you are ill or housebound.  If you would like this service, please give your number to the Parish Office and we will ring you on Sunday at 6pm to listen in!

 

LEGION OF MARY meeting is held each Thursday after Mass at 10:15 am.  If anyone is interested in what we do, you are very welcome to attend.

 

NOVENA PRAYER OF OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP every Wednesday at 10am.

 

DIVINE MERCY- every Wednesday at 4pm in the Church.

 

EL SHADDAI (CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC GROUP). Rosary prayer, praise and worship, preaching the gospel of the Lord, every Saturday, from 1pm – 4pm.
