FOURTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

 

PETER’S PENCE SECOND COLLECTION last weekend amounted to £528.93.  Thank you all for your generosity.

 

PARISH DEFIBRILATOR FUNDRAISING. To this date, donation amounted to £1,159.14.  Thank you all for your generosity. The parish is still accepting donation. If you wish to, please collect an envelope in the porch for your donation. 

 

SUMMER FETE.  ST PATRICK'S SCHOOL FETE IS TODAY AT 12.30 TO 3.30.  There will a bouncy castle, BBQ, grand raffle, tombola, cakes, plants and lots of stalls. If you would like to donate a plant for the plant stall, please bring it on the day.  All donations will be very welcome.  Please come and join in the fun and help raise funds for St Patrick's school!   Raffle tickets will be available to buy at the Fete on the day. Children (under 12) free with a paying adult £1

 

PARISH WORKSHOP: On Monday 8th July at 7pm, the Metropolitan Police Faith Officer will be giving a presentation on Extremism and Terrorism. We are asked to join in this presentation to know what to look out for and to familiarise ourselves with what to do in such cases. Everyone is invited to come along in the church.

 

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION 2020: Application forms are available for children who will be in Year 4 in September who wish to make their First Holy Communion in 2020. Please ensure you have a completed application form, with a copy of your child’s baptismal certificate attached. ONLY APPLICATION FORMS WITH A COPY OF BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATES WILL BE ACCEPTED. The deadline for application forms is Sunday 14th July.  All parents are invited to attend the First Holy Communion Meeting on Thursday 18th July at 7pm in the Parish Hall.

RESTRUCTURING AND RENEWAL OF OUR DIOCESE.

Divine Renovation – Bringing your parish from maintenance to mission has been described as the most effective model of Evangelisation. The members of Pastoral PARISH Council is studying the work of Fr James Mallon in preparation to introduce this model in our Parish. All parishioners are welcome to join us on this journey by reading the book and or watching the videos of Fr James on Youtube.com.  A meeting of the members of the PPC take place in the Presbytery on 10th July 2019 at 7pm to discuss the work of Fr James Mallon – Divine Renovation, bringing your parish from maintenance to mission and Sherry Weddell’s work on Forming intentional Disciples. We will explore how these works may inform our Parish and Partnership planning.

A PARISH PARTNERSHIP (SOTG) COURT YARD PROJECT, initially seeking to engage with young people at Holy Family School & 6th Form. Court Yard provides a core programme to assist discerning what is needed and capacity building to create Court Yard space across our parish communities. You are invited to join the core programme and the first meeting Courtyard meeting arranged for this coming Monday clashes with an important presentation at St Patrick’s by the Police around safeguarding issues. As both meetings are important the Courtyard meeting has been moved to the following evening, Tuesday, 9th July - 7.30pm - 9.00pm - in the church meeting room, the door opposite as you enter the church main door. 

 

THE CANONISATION OF BLESSED JOHN HENRY NEWMAN was announced this week.  This great theologian and man of outstanding faith and virtue will be recognised as a saint by Pope Francis on 13th October.  Would you like to attend the canonisation?  The plan is to stay outside Rome at the VillaPAlazzola (see https://www.palazzola.it/).  Planned departure date will be Friday 11th and returning on Monday 14th.  The present cost is£250 for return flights with bags to Rome Ciampino and staying at Palazzola, £315 for a standard room and £68 more per person in an en-suite.  That includes 3 nights full board and coaches in to Rome.  Further details to be confirmed in due course.  This will be an incredible experience but please remember that Rome will be very busy with pilgrims and therefore, you will need to be mobile, healthy and fit especially as we will be travelling into Rome.  Please contact Clergy House on 01277 265235 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. THE GOVERNORS OF ST PATRICK’S CATHOLIC PRIMARY SCHOOL wish to appoint a Fixed Term Midday Assistant and Midday Assistant.  Experience is welcome but not necessary as training will be provided. We are aware that some people have left the parish and while others have joined us.  To those newly arrived we say welcome and wish you a peaceful time here.  We hope and pray that your coming to St. Patricks will satisfy your need to have a meaningful relationship with God and help you to meet new friends. Do introduce yourself to Fr. Kevin and register with the Parish Secretary and make sure you are known in case you plan to have a child receive a sacrament or apply for a place in a Catholic school.

UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO MASS? The church offers a service called Mass Link.  At 6pm Sunday Mass, via Skype, we call people who want to listen to the Mass and broadcast the Mass to them over their phones. This service is available for anyone who can't make it to Mass if you are ill or housebound.  If you would like this service, please give your number to the Parish Office and we will ring you every Sunday at 6pm to listen in!

 

NOVENA PRAYER OF OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP every Wednesday at 10am.

 

DIVINE MERCY- every Wednesday at 4pm in the Church.

 

LEGION OF MARY meeting is held each Thursday after Mass at 10:15 am.  If anyone is interested in what we do you are very welcome to attend. For more information, come and meet us.

 

EL SHADDAI (CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC GROUP). Rosary prayer, praise and worship, preaching the gospel of the Lord, every Saturday, from 1pm – 4pm. All welcome to join. El Shaddai cordially invites you all to their 18th Years Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration which will take place in the Parish Hall on 27th July from 9am to 4:30pm. Mass in the church will be at 12pm.
