WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY SECOND COLLECTION last weekend at all Masses amounted to £366.50.  Thank you all for your generosity.

 

A REMINDER THAT THERE WILL BE A PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL MEETING on Tuesday 18th June at 7pm in the presbytery. All council members are asked to attend.

 

DAY FOR LIFE SECOND COLLECTION NEXT WEEKEND 16th JUNE. Day for Life is the day in the Church’s year dedicated to raising awareness about the meaning and value of human life at every stage and in every condition. The Church teaches that life is to be nurtured from conception to natural death.

 

FR. PIERLUIGI MACCALLI SMA – At their recent General Assembly, the Society of African Missions (SMA), devised a new prayer for the safe return of Fr Pierluigi, who was kidnapped in Niger in September 2018. The prayer is being prayed throughout Niger and has now been translated into English. These prayer cards are available in the porch of the church for you to take. We are all encouraged to pray for his safe return. Thank you.

† PLEASE PRAY FOR THE HAPPY REPOSE OF THE SOUL OF CHARLES HALL RIP WHO DIED RECENTLY. Charles’ funeral Mass will take place here on Wednesday 19th June at 10 am.  This will be the only Mass on this day.  May he rest in peace.

Divine Renovation – Bringing your parish from maintenance to mission has been described as the most effective model of Evangelisation. The members of Pastoral PARISH Council is studying the work of Fr James Mallon in preparation to introduce this model in our Parish. ALL PARISHIONERS are welcome to join us on this journey by reading the book and or watching the videos of Fr James on Youtube.com. Two workshops are being made available to the members of the Parish Pastoral Council which will help them with this preparation. 1).A workshop is being held on Saturday 22 June 2019 09.00am – 04.30pm at The Parish of Our Lady of Walsingham, Royal Docks, East London, St Anne’s church. 2.) On Tuesday 18 June 2019 there will be a ONE DAY EVENT at which Sherry Wedddell will explore How Catholics can fulfil their Mission to bring all to Christ – Building a parish of fruitful Disciples. This event, will take place at Westminster Cathedral Hall from 1.00pm – 09.00pm. Copies of the books by both authors are available for SHORT loan from the Steward of the Gospel.

 

FAITH EVENING ON THE LITURGICAL YEAR.  On Wednesday 12th June at 7 pm at the Catholic Church of Christ the Eternal High Priest, Gidea Park, RM2 6DH Fr David Manson will lead an evening on the Liturgical Year, exploring the main seasons of the Church’s year and explaining how the feasts of the Church are celebrated. PHILIPPINES 121st INDEPENDENCE DAY – 16th June 9am Mass.  The Filipino Community invite all parishioners on Sunday 16th June to celebrate Philippines Independence.  The celebration will include food served on the lawn after the 9am Mass.  There will be fund raising on that day for the parish defibrillator. 

 

SUPPORTING YOUNG PEOPLE WITH THE HELP of Court Yard courtyardproject.org.uk : meeting 17th June at Our Lady & St George’s parish hall at 7.30 pm.

 

FIRST HOLY COMMUNION REUNION MASS.  Dear parents / carers of the First Holy Communion 2019 children. There will be a reunion Mass in our church on Sunday 23rd June, 9am. Can you please bring your child/children in their communion attire including rosettes and pins. The children will all sit together in the front benches. Refreshments will be provided on the lawn after the Mass, and you will also be able to collect your photos if you used the official photographer.  Thank you for your co-operation  ~ FHC2019 coordinators.

 

MARRIAGE IN CHURCH.  Couples thinking of getting married are reminded to register in good time (minimum of 6 months’ notice). Contact the parish office to make an appointment to see Fr. Kevin and he will help you from there.  Couples planning to marry in another parish or even outside the country should realise that the process properly begins here.

MASS OF THANKSGIVING FOR MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE: Each year Bishop Alan celebrates this Mass particularly for those who are newly married or celebrating special anniversaries. This year the Mass is on Saturday 6th July at 3pm in Brentwood Cathedral, with a reception afterwards. If you would like an invitation please speak to your parish priest. On the same day there is a conference in the Cathedral Hall for all those involved in supporting and promoting the vocation to marriage - see the diocesan website or speak to your parish priest for more information.

UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO MASS? The church offers a service called Mass Link.  At 6pm Sunday Mass, via Skype, we call people who want to listen to the Mass and broadcast the Mass to them over their phones. This service is available for anyone who can't make it to Mass if you are ill or housebound.  If you would like this service, please give your number to the Parish Office and we will ring you every Sunday at 6pm to listen in!

 

NOVENA PRAYER OF OUR LADY OF PERPETUAL HELP every Wednesday at 10am.

 

DIVINE MERCY- every Wednesday at 4pm in the Church.

 

LEGION OF MARY meeting is held each Thursday after Mass at 10:15 am.  If anyone is interested in what we do you are very welcome to attend. For more information, come and meet us.

 

EL SHADDAI (CATHOLIC CHARISMATIC GROUP). Rosary prayer, praise and worship, preaching the gospel of the Lord, every Saturday, from 1pm – 4pm. All welcome to join.
