SECOND COLLECTION TODAY SUNDAY 17th SEPTEMBER IS FOR HOME MISSION SUNDAY.  Home Mission is an opportunity to inspire the faithful and help them engage with the mission of the Church to evangelise, whilst supporting the work of the Home Mission Office in a practical way.

WE REGRET TO ANNOUNCE THE DEATH OF MARIE MESMIN RIP WHO DIED DURING THE WEEK. Mary’s funeral Mass will take place here on Wednesday 27th September at 10am. This will be the only Mass in this day. May she rest in peace.

THE FAITH IN ACTION GROUP are holding a meeting in the Presbytery on Wednesday 20th September at 7pm. All group members are asked to attend as we prepare for the ‘World on a Plate’ event.

 

 

FAITH IN ACTION: On Sunday 24th September, after the 11.30 Mass, the Faith in Action group is inviting parishioners to share in a food tasting programme called’ THE WORLD ON A PLATE’. It is hoped that the diverse cultures and backgrounds in our parish community will be represented. Please help to make this occasion a success by contributing a small traditional dish from your country of origin to share with us. If you and your family or friends would like to prepare something for this event, please contact the parish office 02085203647 before 1st September 2017.

 

PRE-BAPTISM MEETING. The next pre baptism meeting for those who wish to have their child baptised will take place on Friday 29th Sept at 7.30pm in the presbytery. Please note this meeting is for parents only.

THE FAMILY OF THE LATE NELLIE WALSH, would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all parishioners of Our Lady of the Rosary and St Patrick's for attending Mum's funeral, for all their expressions of condolence and for their love and support during what has been a very difficult time. Grateful thanks for all the generous donations to the charities. SVP SERVICE OF REMEMBRANCE to be held at All Saints Church opposite Chingford Cemetery on 24th September at 3pm.

 

HOLY ROSARY.  The month of October is dedicated to the Holy Rosary therefore Mrs Folan will be leading the Rosary in the St Patrick’s School library throughout this special month. The start date is October 5th at 8:30 am and will continue until Friday October 27th. Please come through the Year 5 entrance to access the library. All are very welcome.

 

ST. PATRICK SCHOOL WOULD LIKE YOUR HELP.  Can you spare a morning or afternoon each week to join the school Reading Volunteers?  We are looking to expand our team of volunteers to spend time exploring and reading books, as many children would benefit from more time reading with an adult.   Interested in sharing your love of reading?   Request forms can be found at the back of the church.  Please return to the school by 22nd September 2017.  Thanking you in advance.

 

CALLING MARRIED COUPLES! Could you give 2 hours once to change the lives of 20 students? The Explore project brings together married couples with young people to have an open conversation about the realities of both marriage and family life. This exciting project is running in Catholic schools in your area and this is an invaluable and also fun way for you and your spouse to give back to your local community. DIVINE MERCY- every Wednesday at 4pm in the Church.

 

UNABLE TO MAKE IT TO MASS? The church offers a service called Mass Link.  At 6pm Sunday Mass, via Skype, we call people who want to listen to the Mass and broadcast the Mass to them over their phones. This service is available for anyone who can't make it to Mass if you are ill or housebound.  If you would like this service, please give your number to the Parish Office and we will ring you every Sunday at 6pm to listen in!

 

PLEASE HELP.  Walsingham House at Abbotswick Funding Appeal: Target £430,000. Each year, over 5,000 young people from our schools and parishes enjoy a retreat with the Walsingham House Team. In January 2018 this work is moving to Abbotswick, a beautiful house near Brentwood, set in 14 acres of grounds. In school holidays, Abbotswick will also continue to be used by parish groups seeking a time of retreat, resting with the Lord. However, Abbotswick is in need of a significant refurbishment, and we seek your help.  Please support it as generously as you can; in the words of Bishop Alan “This project builds a prayerful and inspiring future for the young people of the Diocese.” Thank you.

 

THE ROYAL SCHOOL OF CHURCH MUSIC CHORAL FESTIVAL will take place this year in Brentwood Cathedral  on 21st October, and will celebrate the Centenary of Brentwood Diocese.     All singers are invited to take part.    The Festival will take form of a workshop starting at 10 a.m. to prepare the music which will be used in the Centenary Celebration Service at 4 p.m. in the afternoon.    The specially chosen music for the occasion is all contained in a book . RSCM-EEL ANNUAL CHORAL FESTIVAL 2017. This year our Festival will be a very special occasion celebrating the Centenary of the Diocese of Brentwood. It will be held in the beautiful setting of Brentwood Cathedral on Saturday, 21st October, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. with the Festival Thanksgiving Service at 4 p.m. The service will be conducted by Andrew Wright, Master of Music at Brentwood Cathedral.   We invite all singers to join us for a memorable and enjoyable day of singing finishing with our Thanksgiving Service. Individual singers are warmly welcomed, as are members of all choirs, robed or unrobed. The choirs of Chelmsford and Brentwood Cathedrals will be joining us for the Service. The music this year has been specially chosen and is included in a booklet which has been printed for us by the Royal School of Church Music. STEWARDS OF THE GOSPEL: The steering group of the parish will be having a meeting in the Presbytery on Monday 18th September at 7pm. All members are asked to attend. Anyone who would like to contribute to the draft working plan of the diocese is also asked to join this meeting.
