Message from Dympna Mallon-SMA Laity Coordinator I would like to thank you all for the warm welcome I received in Walthamstow two weeks ago. It was wonderful to see such enthusiasm and interest in the SMA Thumbprint Campaign and in the important issue of Climate Justice. Every time I visit Walthamstow, I go home feeling encouraged in the value of the work SMA is trying to do and the support given by people like yourselves. The posters completed in Walthamstow are the most impressive from anywhere the Thumbprint Campaign has been presented, indicating a parish which is truly concerned for others and the earth which we all share. In that context I would ask you each to think seriously about some further action to promote climate justice and care for creation. While I am suggesting some ideas, there are many different possibilities: working with Cafod to become an Eco-parish; developing a community garden; promoting recycling - clothes/school uniforms etc; lift-sharing/ car-pooling for meetings and Mass; getting involved in the Christian Kitchen/ sleepover programme. Every little thing we do will make a difference to someone somewhere, and since our lives and actions are all connected, it will make a difference to us all and to our common home, the earth. I hope to be back in the parish in the near future and look forward to hearing about the ongoing activity. Thanks again. Every blessing for a holy and peaceful Advent and Christmas. ~Dympna Mallon
