A Note to our Readers. I want to begin by thanking our many readers who overall do a really good job of communicating the words of scripture to the congregation. I would also like to ask that all readers be aware of some guidelines relating to your ministry.
a. Before and after the readings; reverence the altar (i.e. bow to the altar). At weekends the bow after the readings should be done along with the Mass servers at the altar step.
b. At the end of each reading allow for a pause before acclaiming: The Word of the Lord (not: This is the Word of the Lord)
c. The Gospel Acclamation. The Alleluia, Alleluia at the beginning and end can and should be sung preferably by the lead singer, the words in between however should be said.
Thanks: Fr John
